Inside the Gates: Arsenal Doctor's Clinic

The arsenal isn't just known for military and guns, it's also known for medicine.
From the outside, it doesn't look like much. But inside the doors, it's a whole different story.

"I think our staff here takes absolute great pride in the fact that yes," says Captain Katherine Converse,Clinic Commander. "It may look old on the outside, but when you come inside it definitely looks like a medical clinic."

This isn't your typical doctor's office; this clinic caters to a special clientèle. "We actually render care to all of the military here on post as well as their spouses, their children, some retirees," Capt. Converse says.

"We are working hard to build trust within the medical community, and army medicine in general," Capt. Converse continues. "There are some, who when they first arrived here, were seen on the outside.  We're trying to bring them back and show them that we have the ability to provide the services that they need and give them the best medicine that the world has to offer."

The best medicine...Pills falling from chute...And the latest technology.

"We do have state of the art equipment with digital capability as far as the x-rays are concerned," Capt. Converse says. "As soon as our tech takes the xray, the doc is able to see the results right up on the screen quickly."

And unlike some other doctor's offices, this one runs with military precisions. "We do pretty well staying on time with our appointments," Capt. Converse says.
