Anthony Peoples joined the Local 4 weather team in March 2013 as the meteorologist for Local 4 News This Morning, but he's no stranger to the Quad Cities having worked as a meteorologist at another station for seven years.
Anthony was born and raised in western Kentucky. He always knew he wanted to be a "meteorologist" before he even knew there was a technical word for "weatherman". As a child, he used to make weather instruments from whatever he could find around the house and he spent just as much time forecasting weather at his small country high school as he did studying math and science. But, he didn't neglect his studies as he graduated in the Top Ten in high school.
He graduated from Murray State University (Go Racers!) with a degree in Radio-Television News Performance and a minor in Criminal Justice. He then earned a Broadcast Meteorology certification from Mississippi State University in 2006. While working to become a certified meteorologist, he earned the National Weather Association television "Seal of Approval".
Before moving to the Quad Cities, Anthony worked as a meteorologist and a reporter for television stations in Indiana, Wisconsin, Texas, Ohio, and Maryland.
When Anthony is not forecasting weather on Local 4 News This Morning, he's following it from home! When not tracking storms and taking a weather break, he loves watching movies, working in the garden, doing yard work, and cooking. He loves food and has a fondness for desserts!
Anthony enjoys meeting people, so if you ever see him in public, feel free to say hello.
Anthony and his family live in Moline are happy to call the Quad Cities home.
You can catch Anthony each weekday morning with Chris Langlois and Emily Scarlett on Local 4 News This Morning beginning at 5 a.m. and you can reach him at firstname.lastname@example.org
