Dr. Smith graduated from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois in 1997. Following an internship at North Chicago Veterans Administration Medical Center, he received surgical training through Catholic Health Partners, which is affiliated with Northwestern School of Medicine in Chicago.
He established his practice in the Quad Cities and serves on the staff at community hospitals and medical facilities. He receives numerous referrals from many local doctors.
In addition, Dr. Smith performs original research on podiatry issues. His papers have been published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and Foot and Ankle International.
Dr. Smith resides in Moline, Illinois, with his wife, Judy. In the Quad Cities community, he has been involved in the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure Cycling Event and served as a medical volunteer at clinics and athletic events.
Dr. Smith takes the time to understand your needs and provide comprehensive in-office care, so you can get back on your feet as soon as possible. Patients of all ages benefit from the gentle, healing environment in his office.
Foot Pain Is Not Normal!
While surgery is safe and effective, it is always the last option. Dr. Smith's numerous non-surgical treatments, such as custom-made orthotics, help keep foot pain away. If surgery is required, your feet are in expert, caring hands.
For noninvasive solutions to many foot problems, Dr. Smith turns to orthotic devices. These corrective objects cradle the feet, controlling their movement. Orthotics must be properly fitted in order to be effective.
While many foot doctors require patients to order orthotics, Dr. Smith provides a full line of ready-made orthotic shoes, splints and shoe inserts to increase your foot comfort. You may also receive a prescription for custom-made orthotics to support or immobilize your foot as effectively as possible.
