Big Brothers Big Sisters kicks of annual plant sale

dozens of volunteers came out to help raise money for kids in the Quad Cities

MOLINE, Ill. - Dozens of volunteers got their hands dirty to help Big Brothers Big Sisters Thursday, for their 28th annual plant sale in Moline.

The organization's CEO Jay Justin said they hope to raise at least $190,000 this year for kids in the Quad Cities.

"We're hoping that as we continue to grow this event, that it gives us the dollars to continue to do the type of programming," Justin said. "We want to engage more kids and engage more volunteers in the future," said Justin.

The sale will run through Mother's Day weekend at two locations.
One at Northwest Bank and Trust Tower on Welcome Way in Davenport.

Another at Unity Point Health Trinity on John Deere Road in Moline.
All the money raised goes to Big Brothers Big Sisters in the Quad Cities, Macomb and Whiteside Counties.
