4 teens charged with theft after vehicle stolen from construction site

Vehicle crashed in the 3700 block of North Fairmount Street

Four teens were taken into custody Thursday after a vehicle was stolen from a construction area on Brady Street in Davenport.

Each juvenile was charged with one count of first degree theft and one count of second degree criminal mischief. All four were placed into the Scott County Juvenile Detention Center.

Police responded to a report just before Noon of a vehicle being stolen from the construction area in the 1000 block of Brady Street. 

Less than an hour later, a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of 1600 West Kimberly Road came in that matched the description of the stolen vehicle. 

Multiple officers responded and were notified of a single vehicle crash in the 3700 block of North Fairmount Street

Four subjects were seen running from the vehicle that struck a fence. 

Officers tracked the subjects to the 3100 block of West Kimberly Road, and the four  juveniles were taken into custody. Three were 14 years old and one was 13 years old. 

No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and the fence was damaged as well.
