U.S. Congressman Dave Loebsack (D-IA) joins "4 the Record" to discuss his view on the controversial Transpacific Partnership, or TPP.
The TPP would reduce trade barriers between 12 countries lining the Pacific Rim. Supporters say opening up trade could boost the U.S. economy, add jobs, and allow exports to soar. Opponents say jobs would decrease as factories move overseas and the U.S. economy would be hurt in the end.
Congressman Dave Loebsack discusses his take on the plan and his reluctance to give President Obama, a supporter of the deal, 'Fast Track Authority' that would take power away from Congress in striking a deal.
