Annual Duck Hatching event kicks off at John Deere Pavilion

Children and families will be able to watch ducks hatch and learn about them

MOLINE, Ill. - The annual Duck Hatching event kicks off Thursday at the John Deere Pavilion.
It's free and open to the public.

Pavilion Manager Brigitte Tapscott said, the event has grown tremendously over the years.
Children and families will be able to receive educational and informational sessions conducted at the top of every hour, to learn more about ducks.
Tapscott said, the idea of fun and education helps children develop a connection to what they learn.

"We actually started this event several years ago and it started out very small where we just had a few chickens and a fish aquarium," Tapscott said.

"The attention grew every year, so we we've actually grown this event each year as well. Now we're hatching ducks and also showing and teaching the process of that and what a ducks roll is on a farm," she said.

Doors open at 9am on Thursday until 5pm and runs through Saturday.
