Bettendorf City Council names new alderman at large

Lisa Brown to fill vacancy

BETTENDORF, Iowa - Bettendorf City Council has chosen the city's next alderman at large.

Members chose Lisa Brown to fill the vacancy left by Gary Mohr, who resigned after winning a seat in Iowa's House of Representatives.

Brown has worked as a dean of students at Scott Community College for 24 years.

She also served on the Bettendorf Parks board in 1990.

Brown says she's excited about the city's current projects.

"I'm excited to be working on [the projects] again," Brown said. "Now I'm looking at the downtown development and the Bettplex."

Brown says she hopes to see more dining and entertainment options downtown.

Her swearing in ceremony is set for March 7th.
