Bill to raise minimum wage to $15 passes Illinois House

Minimum wage in Illinois is currently $8.25

The Illinois House of Representatives on Tuesday passed a bill to raise the minimum wage in the state to $15 by 2022.

House lawmakers voted to pass Senate Bill 81 61-53.

The minimum wage in Illinois is currently $8.25. If passed by the Illinois Senate and signed by Illinois governor Bruce Rauner, the minimum wage would jump incrementally over the next five years for workers 18 and over.
