Bix Jazz Festival continues

Davenport, IA - Today was the last day to enjoy the 46th Annual Bix Jazz Festival in Davenport.

All throughout the night you will be able to hear many different performances. Each will bring their own twist to 20's jazz music, all playing tribute to Bix Beiderbeck who grew up right here in the Quad Cities.

The last convert will start at 10:00 in Laclaire Park and will feature The Fat Babies.

This is an incredibly popular event, bringing men and women from all over the world. They hope all Quad City residents will enjoy their music as much as they do.

"I think it's a really good thing, and I feel like for people that live in Davenport it's on their doorstep and I feel like people should perhaps appreciate what they have here. "Says Jonathan Holmes, Bix Collector "And the music of Bix is very, very special to a lot of people. I traveled three thousand miles to be here and for there to be a permanent museum I think it's a wonderful thing and people should really appreciate the fact that this museum exists and the fact that people have worked so hard to bring it to life and because the music of Bix should be explored people need to find these things out and they need to find them out in a proper museum setting. "

Even after the festival concludes tonight, it is asked that the public continue to support and donate to the Bix Beiderbeck Music Society so they can keep his music alive.

They have just opened a brand new museum in the basement of River Music Experience in Davenport.
