Black Hawk Education Center students dance their afternoon away

Homecoming week ends with a Disney theme dance

EAST MOLINE, Iowa - Homecoming king Charlie Etheridge and queen Shannon Baker danced their first dance today.
They were crowned in the homecoming court this week at the Black Hawk Area Special Education Center in East Moline.
Their Disney themed dance marks the end of homecoming week.
The events included the coronation, games, picture day and a Special Olympics basketball matchup versus Kewanee.
"The kids really just look forward to homecoming every year. It's a lot of fun, it's a really lighthearted, enjoyable week," says teacher Jennifer Schnell.
"They're very fun, and they're really good friends to have," says 9th grader Destini Jo Jacobs-Allison.
The Disney theme will continue for all school events including their Christmas program and prom.
