Burlington High School was placed on a brief lockdown Thursday morning after a shots fired call nearby.

Principal Dave Keane tells Local 4 News that police contacted them and told them to go into lockdown because of dangerous activity in the neighborhood.

The lockdown was lifted at 12:24 and Principal Keane says the school day is progressing normally.

BHS has slightly less than 1200 students.
