CADS, Robert Young Center team up

Teamwork will help improve mental health services in QC

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - Two local organizations say their teamwork will help improve mental health services here in the Quad Cities.

The Robert Young Center for Mental Health and the Center for Alcohol and Drug Services are working together.

The heads of both organizations say their partnership will increase access to behavioral health and addiction treatment specialsts.

UnityPoint Health operates the Robert Young Center.

It provides both inpatient and outpatient services as well as crisis intervention for people with psychiatric emergencies.

Sometimes that includes a person under the influence.

"In a time when funding resources are becoming more and more scarce, it really made sense to take the opportunity to bring together the organizations and maximize what we do have in terms of staffing, in terms of financial resources as well," said Dennis Duke, Robert Young Center president.

The two organizations said there won't be any major changes in the immediate future.

But the affiliation will help sustain and enhance current services.
