Changes to bylaws for Rock Island City council

Martin Luther King Jr. Center by law changes

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Rock Island's Martin Luther King Junior center will see changes at the top.
City council approved a change to the eligibility requirements to be on the board of directors.
People who don't live in Rock Island may now be able to hold a seat. That new bylaw passed by a five to two vote on Monday.
The mayor now has the ability to appoint three board members who don't live in the city.
If he does, those appointed will still have to be approved by the council.
