Chicago pays millions of dollars in overtime

Millions go to those who worked during the World Series

CHICAGO, Ill. - Baseball's opening day is just a few weeks away and Chicago is paying workers for the hundreds of hours of overtime they worked during the Cubs World Series title run.
 
Chicago spent close to $19 million dollars in overtime fees.
 
The city made the payouts for things like public safety, traffic and street cleanup.
 
The parade, which was titled the seventh largest gathering in human history, cost about $2.5 million dollars in overtime.
