Davenport Public Works Director Mike Clarke is stepping down after six years on the job.
Clarke says he is leaving in December to follow his dream to work in the Southeast to be closer to his family.
Clarke worked on the largest sewer project in the city's history, and helped bring new technology for snow plowing.
The city recognized him for his management during floods.
City leaders are going to evaluate personnel needs before filling the position.
