Deadly shooting at Hotel Davenport

Marques Cotton, 29, of Peoria, Illinois was pronounced dead at the hospital

DAVENPORT, Iowa - One person is dead and another injured after a shooting at Hotel Davenport Sunday.

Davenport Police say at approximately 12:52 a.m., officers responded to the Hotel Davenport on Brady Street on a report of shots fired and possible gunshot victims. Two people were found with suspected gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to Genesis East hospital. One was treated and released. Marques Cotton, 29, of Peoria, Illinois was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The shooting occurred during a concert that was being held inside the hotel. The shooting is still being investigated.
