Disc Golf World Championships in Quad Cities

Two locals among 650 players from around the world

DAVENPORT, Iowa - The 2017 Professional Disc Golf Association Amateur & Junior Disc Golf World Championships continues today throughout the Quad Cities.

 

Over 650 players from around the world qualified for the competition.

 

The two local players include Dawson Snelling of Moline and Graham Vanderpool of Buffalo, Iowa.

 

The Quad Cities is known as one of the premier disc golf outlets across the country.

 

"Disc golf is such a great family friendly-oriented sport," says Kim Holmes, Senior Grand Master Competitor from Australia, "I feel that my other competitors are like extended family, and it's great to catch up with them in July every year - which I've done for the last seven years."

 

The PDGA tournament continues throughout the week.

 

Courses will be set up at Camden Park, Credit Island, and Eastern Avenue Park, among many others.

 

The public is encouraged to come out and watch.
