Ellis Kell benefit concert to be held this weekend

The concert's proceeds will go to the Kell Family

A concert this weekend will honor the memory of a local music teacher and legend. The concert for Ellis Kell's family is called, "Peace, Love, & the Joy of Music."
The Ellis Kell band, the Whoozdads and other local musicians will be performing. Plus, there will be a performance by the River Music Experience camp Kids Jam.
The River Music Experience's programming and education director Bret Dale says it wasn't hard to find people who wanted to participate.
In fact, he says they had to make the concert longer to accomodate the number of people who wanted to perform.
"It's an obvious celebration of life to somebody who gave so much to a community. The family gave so much to the community, and it only makes sense that the community gets together and gives back as much as we can" Dale said.
The Ellis Kell family benefit concert is this Saturday at the River Center in Davenport from 4-11 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now at River Music Experience in downtown Davenport, or you can pay at the door.
Tickets are a suggested donation of $10 to the Kell family. The goal of the concert is to raise as much money as possible to cover costs associated with Ellis Kell's medical bills.
