Family Resources helping victims of abuse and other violent crimes in the Quad Cities

Staffers help about 10,000 people each year

DAVENPORT, Iowa - Local 4 News continues shining a light on local non-profits and the good they do for our community. Family Resources President Mary Macumber Schmidt joined us to talk more about how it helps provide a safe place for children in the Quad Cities.

Each year Family Resources provide services to more than 10,000 individuals, but we reach nearly 50,000 total with our educational trainings and our crisis lines. The organization offers comprehensive services to all survivors of domestic or sexual abuse, human trafficking, homicide and other violent crimes, along with mental health services and our group care program. To hear more about the group, watch the interview above. You can also find the Family Resources website here.

The organization also has an upcoming fundraiser called the Opening Doors Gala on April 6. There's also the Biaggi's Wine Tasting on March 22. More information on those can also be found on the Family Resources website.
