Large parts of our area picked up more than an inch of rain last night, and there's more heavy rain coming up tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Quad Cities and many surrounding counties tonight,.  The watch goes until 7 a.m. on Thursday.

With high humidity in place, thunderstorms that develop tonight will have the capacity to drop heavy rain in a short amount of time.  1-3" of rain is possible tonight.  Add that to our saturated ground from last night's rain, and the potential is there for flash flooding tonight.

Driving across a road that is covered with water is very dangerous and you should "turn around, don't drown."  Finding an alternate route could save your life!
