A decades old tradition of helping local families returned to the Quad Cities Friday.

Humility of Mary Housing held its semi-annual Fresh Start Benefit Sale Friday. Items including toys, jewelry, furniture and antiques are all sold at a discount price. The sale is celebrating 26 years helping the homeless get back on their feet.

"It started off just in someone's garage as an idea, a way to bring in some funds to help and it has grown into all we see here," said Patti Trapp, Humilty of Mary Housing's Volunteer Coordinator.

If you missed the sale Friday you can still stop by Saturday. It starts again at 9 a.m. and runs through 3 p.m.
