Garbage disposal recall issued

More than 140,000 units on the list

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio - More than 140,000 garbage disposals have been recalled after customers reported metal pieces flying out of them.

Anaheim Manufacturing, a division of Moen, issued the recall saying metal parts inside could fly off during use. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says 22 customers have reported the issue. Three people have been hit by metal but no injuries were reported. The disposals were sold in stores and online from December 2015 through March 2017. If you have a recalled model you should stop using it immediately and call the manufacturer for a free replacement.

Replacements will be installed free of charge. To see the list of products involved in the recall, click here.
