Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner has requested help from FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) to assist with damage assessments in 23 counties devastated by a series of severe storms in June and July. that produced heavy rain, flash and river flooding, tornadoes and straight-line winds.

Gov. Rauner has issued a state disaster proclamation for those  counties.

FEMA was also asked to assist storm-related costs, including Warren County.

That's where an EF-2 tornado touched down in Cameron, Illinois on July 16th.

Those assessments are expected to begin the week of Aug. 10th.
