The City of Davenport announced on its Facebook page Wednesday that Portillo's is coming to the Quad Cities.
A location in Davenport has been chosen, but some steps need to be taken before Iowa's first franchise is finalized.
"A neighborhood meeting is Thursday for a re-zoning request for 6.5 acres, more or less, located along the south of East 53rd Street and east of Lorton Avenue from R-1 Low Density Dwelling District to Planned Development District for a commercial development that includes a Portillo’s," the City of Davenport posted. "The zoning request includes a partial vacation of Fairhaven Road."
Local 4 News reporter Shawn Loging has talked to residents of the neighborhood affected.
