The Jr. Bix lets kids 12 and younger get in on all the Bix excitement. Thousands of kids came out to run in the race Friday, and of course there were thousands of proud parents cheering them on.

The Jr. Bix isn't quite as long or as difficult as Saturday's Bix 7. Kids under five ran 70 yards, six and seven year-olds ran for a half mile, and eight through twelve year-olds ran seven-tenths of a mile.

Kids with disabilities also got to participate in their age group's run too.Volunteer 'Bix Buddies,' ran along side them to help them make it to the finish line.

Parents say the Jr. Bix is great way to get their kids involved in the community.

All the kids running walked a way as a winner, every child got a t-shirt and medal for participating.
This was the 18th year of the Jr. Bix.
