A restaurant in the heart of the Rock Island District is saying au revoir.

Tuesday will be the last day for the French restaurant Le Figaro.

The owner is retiring.

The award-winning restaurant opened at its current spot 33 years ago.

That doesn't count his first business in Muscatine, Iowa.

Regular customers who have been coming for three decades stopped by this month to say goodbye.

"For the last 3 weeks we have been so busy with all the customers who wanted to come one more time, and so it has been a really good run for us," said Rachid Bouchareb, owner/chef.

The building on 2nd Ave. is now for sale.
The owner tells Local 4 News he doesn't know what he will do in retirement, but he plans to stay busy.
