Live Uncommon has become common phrase in the Quad Cities but one of the things that makes it so uncommon is the groups co-founder.

Michelle Solis Russell started the non-profit in 2011 with her husband Jim.

Since its inception, Live Uncommon has raised more than $50,000 for local charities and awarded $20,000 in scholarships.

"Michelle found volunteers to help build our garage for Project Renewal through Russell Construction," said Project Renewal program director  Ann Schwickerath.

In addition to helping charities, Live Uncommon also host a number of free family events in the community including everything from Yoga to live concerts.
