Distracted driving awareness, IL budget, Iowa medical pot, Sanguinetti in QC

DAVENPORT, Iowa - Stories we're following at Local 4 News:


Illinois Lieutenant Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti will meet with healthcare professionals today, at Rock Island's Robert Young Center at 10 a.m. to discuss mental health issues and opioid addiction. Latest on Local 4 News at 4 p.m.


Illinois state lawmakers will be back in Springfield today after a two-week break, with the budget once again at the top of their agenda. Gov. Bruce Rauner says the "Grand bargain" will be ready for a vote in two weeks. Lawmakers have less than six weeks to get a deal done before the budget deadline.


A medical marijuana bill now sits on Gov. Terry Brandstad's desk that allows medical cannabis to cover more diseases and limits the THC content in the cannabis oil to 3-percent. Orko Manna reports.  


Illinois' first ever Distracted Driving Awareness Week starts today - spearheaded by the Moline PD. Briana Collier reports.  


Doris Fogel will be speaking again today as part of Augustana College's annual talk by a holocaust survivor at 7 p.m. in the Denkmann memorial building. WATCH: last night's annual Yom Hashoah event.
