Local women lead QC Diversity Book Drive

Goal is to collect 1,000 books that reflect a diverse, multicultural world

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - All this month a couple of women have been working to bring more books to area students but they're looking for a specific kind.

Linnea Crowther co-chairs the QC Diversity Book Drive. She joined us in studio to talk more about the goals of the program and what they're looking for. Children at Monroe Elementary School in Davenport and the Spring Forward QC reading program in Rock Island will get the books. You can find a wish list of the books by clicking here.

Monetary donations can be in the form of gift cards to book stores (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, BAM) or cash/check to Cathy Lafrenz. New books or monetary donations can be dropped off in person at our table at the People's Climate Movement Rally on April 29th at Modern Woodmen Park or mailed to Cathy Lafrenz, 27387 130th Ave., Donahue, IA, 52746.
