A man accused of trying to kill a Burlington man appeared in Henry County court for a pre-trial hearing.
Caine Ingram is accused of attempted murder for beating 20-year-old Michael Palmer in Galva, Illinois.
Ingram's lawyer asked for more time in the case. He's now due back in court next month.
Ingram was arrested with two other men. Palmer had his skull fractured and stab wounds punctured his lung and lacerated his liver.
He is the older brother of 17-year-old Damien Ingram, who was charged with animal abuse for slashing the throat of a black lab puppy last year.
