Man charged with home invasion, burglary & battery

83-year-old man was found beaten in his burglarized home

A Burlington man has been charged with home invasion, residential burglary and aggravated battery in connection with the May "brutal beating" of a rural Joy man.

Mercer County Sheriff David Staley announced Wednesday that Brian K. Tully, 55, was arrested and charged in connection with the May 8 home invasion and beating of Fred Rooth, 83, who was found beaten in his burglarized home.

Tully is being held on $200,000 bond and also faces charges in Warren and Henderson counties.
