Juvenile arrested for murder attempt in Muscatine

16-year-old arrested in Fairfield, Iowa

MUSCATINE, Iowa - UPDATE: Police have made an arrest in the shooting that occurred Sunday night in Muscatine. Muscatine Police say a 16-year-old was arrested Wednesday morning in Fairfield, Iowa.

Lieutenant Tim Hull of the Muscatine Police Department says the 16-year-old is facing charges of attempted murder, with additional charges pending. Police are still asking for help in the investigation. EARLIER COVERAGE: 

One person has been hospitalized after a shooting in Muscatine Sunday night.

The incident happened just before 9:30 p.m. 

Police say they were investigating reports of gunshots in the area when they found the victim outside a vehicle on Broadway Street. That person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities say they found several shell casings in the area. 

They are hoping anyone who may have witnessed the shooting will come forward, and police say anyone who does may remain anonymous.
