Man wanted for assault of Moline police officer arrested

Clenney booked into Scott County Jail on Sunday night by Eldridge police

A man wanted by the Moline Police Department for aggravated battery of a police officer and aggravated assault was booked into Scott County Jail on Sunday night by the Eldridge Police Department.

Austin Clenney, 20, was booked at 9:58 p.m. Sunday. He was released to Rock Island County at 9:23 a.m. Monday.

Police looking for man after officer injured

An officer was injured during an altercation Friday morning in Moline.

The Moline Police Department responded to the 1800 block of 18th Avenue A after a report of a suspicious vehicle. 

When officers confronted the two men in the vehicle, there was an altercation and one officer was injured.

The injuries were not considered life threatening, but the officer was taken to a hospital as a precaution. 

One suspect ran and one was caught. The man on the loose is Austin Clenney, 20. Police are looking for him and a 2010 gray Honda sedan with Illinois plates: Z660134. 

Clenney is considered armed and dangerous. The Moline Police Department is obtaining warrants for aggravated battery of a police officer and aggravated assault.

The passenger has been identified as Mario Pena, 20, of East Moline. He ran away but was captured. Pena had a warrant for mob action out of Waukegan, Illinois and is in custody at the Rock Island County Jail.
