Mandsager granted raise by Muscatine City Council

MUSCATINE - Muscatine City Council voted Tuesday to give its controversial city administrator a raise.

"When we say table this so that you can listen to the voting public, that means give them their voice," Shelley, Muscatine resident.

Council gave City Administrator Gregg Mandsager the raise after his annual review Tuesday night. Members voted unanimously to raise his salary from $155,000 to $157,000 a year.

This comes after Mandsager filed a  defamation lawsuit against mayor Diana Broderson on Friday.
And...a week after voters re-elected Broderson to a second term as mayor despite the council's earlier attempt to impeach her.

Broderson says she's looking forward to a change in leadership once new council members take office in January.
