Multiple crews responded to a "Mayday" call into the U.S. Coast Guard late Wednesday evening.

The distress signal ranged from the I-280 bridge to Cordova, Illinois. Multiple fire departments on both sides of the Mississippi River responded to the call of a boat sinking, including Moline and East Moline at the 55th St. ramp.

However, after two hours of searching up and down the Mississippi River, in locks & dams and marinas for evidence, nothing turned up and crews called off the search and wrapped up for the night.

East Moline told Local 4 News they would not be continuing the search into the morning unless the Coast Guard requests it.
