Moline Road bridge over I-88 to close

Construction work is expected to be completed by July

Construction work on the Moline Road bridge over Interstate 88 east of Silvis will begin on Monday, June 5, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced Wednesday.

They will be replacing the wearing surface on the bridge and making other minor repairs to the structure.

The bridge will be closed to all traffic while the wearing surface is replaced and other minor repairs are made. All ramps at the Moline Road interchange with I-88 will remain open but the bridge over the interstate will be closed. Drivers wishing to cross the interstate to go northbound on Moline Road should use the I-88 interchange at Illinois 92 west of Joslin.

Brandt Construction Company is the contractor for the $456,401 project. The project is scheduled to be completed and the bridge open to traffic by the end of July.
