Moline student appointed Senate Page

MOLINE, Ill. - Miss Hampton goes to Washington.

Savannah Hampton, a junior at Moline High School, was selected by U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, Illinois, to participate in the Spring 2017 Student Senate Page Program in Washington.

Through a highly selective application process, Savannah is one of 15 female pages accepted from a national pool of candidates.

As a Senate Page, Savannah will continue her junior year of high school while participating in and learning about the day-to-day operation of the U.S. Senate.

Savannah has considered a career in politics since her freshman year. She became especially interested after attending the Young Women’s Political Leadership Program in Georgetown prior to her sophomore year. She aspires to attend Yale, Harvard or Columbia and major in International Relations while becoming an Army Officer through ROTC.

At Moline High School, Savannah is involved in several activities including Chess Club, Link Crew, Crime Stoppers, Book Club, Line O’ Type newspaper and the Moline High School Chapter of Young Women United USA (YWUU) in which she is President and Founder.

Savannah also participates in cross country and track.
