Motion to dismiss denied in puppy abuse case

Damien Ingram's lawyer argued his client did not act out of violence

A young man accused of slicing a puppy's throat with a box cutter will not have his case dismissed.

A judge rejected that motion from Damien Ingram's attorney in Henry County court today.

Ingram's lawyer argued his client did not act out of violence, but hurt the puppy to do it a service.

He also maintains Ingram poses no threat to the public.

Ingram's now scheduled to go on trial March 6.
