Muscatine Council closer to removing Mayor from office

Council votes Thursday whether to hold removal hearing

MUSCATINE, Iowa - The Muscatine City Council will vote Thursday night whether to hold a hearing on removing Mayor Diana Broderson from office.

If approved, a hearing on the charges of removal filed by Muscatine City Attorney Matthew Brick will be held March 23 at 8:00 a.m. in council chambers.  At that hearing, both sides will argue before council. Council members will then make a decision about removing Mayor Broderson from office.

In order to remove Mayor Broderson, at least a two-thirds majority of council members must vote to do so.
