New bike path opens in Bettendorf

Adds to more than 26 miles of bike trails in the city

BETTENDORF, Iowa - You can now ride your bike on a longer trail along the riverfront in Bettendorf.

City officials cut the ribbon this morning for the new section that connects to the Mississippi Riverfront Trail.

The new addition runs between Fenno Road and 62nd Street Court.

"This is a great opportunity for folks to get out and ride, to stay healthy for recreation. It'll help folks get to and from our places of work here. A lot of our industrial area down on 67th can now be better served by bikers," says Bettendorf Mayor Bob Gallagher.

This milestone now connects more than 26 miles of bike trails in Bettendorf.
