Illinois high school coaches and athletic directors will now how to take concussion training courses under a new state law.
Governor Quinn signed the law, requiring the Illinois High School Association to develop an online concussion certification program.
Quinn said the idea is to reduce and prevent concussions among high school athletes.
Studies indicate concussions in children and teens have increased in recent years.
The training will center on preventing and recognizing concussions.
