NWS confirms tornado damage near Hooppole, IL Wednesday night

NWS confirms EF-1 tornado near Hooppole, IL

Hooppole, Ill. - The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado caused damage near Hooppole, IL on Wednesday evening.  

The twister was on the ground for a couple miles and had winds that topped out at 95 mph.  

This tornado was NW of Hooppole and was located in Henry county, IL.  

The tornado damaged trees and one outbuilding.  Some trees were uprooted while others were snapped off at the trunk.  

The tornado was about 50 yards wide and on the ground from 8:44 to 8:47 p.m.
