Police make arrest in Davenport kidnapping case

DAVENPORT, Iowa - One man is in custody on a number of charges in connection with a kidnapping and robbery that happened in Davenport last month.

Shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday, January 14 two people were in the parking lot of Stoeger's Bar and Grill, 1520 Washington Street when they were approached by a man with a gun.

According to police reports the suspect forced the two into their car and made them take him to an ATM, where he forced them to take out money.

The suspect, 23-year-old Dayvon Freeman, allegedly took the victims' cell phones before making them drop him off in an alley near his house.

Police say during the robbery Freeman made several threats to kill the victims and their families.

Freeman is currently in the Scott County Jail charged with felon in possession of a firearm, kidnapping, robbery, and burglary.
