Thursday night the River Bandits took the time before the game to honor four decorated vets.

SFC Mac Johnson Jr., Scott Smith, Joshua Kramer, and First Sergeant Joseph Wertz all threw the first pitch at the game against the Peoria Chiefs.

What they all have in common? Purple hearts.

Congresswoman Cheri Bustos was there to thank the vets at the game.
