QC Home Show draws thousands

Hundreds gathered in Rock Island to check out the latest home trends

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Quad Cities Builders and Remodelers Association held their 40th annual Home Show this weekend at the QCCA Expo Center. More than a hundred vendors showed off their newest products, services and home improvement ideas.

Lanette Carlson owns Carlson's Barnwood Company. She says this is their 10th year setting up a booth at the Home Show.

"We've been in the business 22 years and we started out selling mostly nationally," said Carlson. "The last 10 years, we decided we should get more local customers. So we started coming to the home show and it did help. We got probably 50% of our business now is local."

Organizers say they had a great turnout at the Home Show this year. They estimate about 7,000 people stopped by throughout the weekend.
