Quad City Mallards to honor those battling cancer with special rink

Unique pink jerseys will also be worn during two games

MOLINE, Ill. - The Quad City Mallards will be wearing special promotional jerseys next weekend and the ice they skate on will look a little different.

It's part of a promotion called "Pink in the Rink" and Quad City Mallards Vice President Tyler Gilles joined us to explain how it all works. The Mallards have teamed with Genesis Health System and several area cancer charities in the fight against cancer. The general public is welcome to stop by the TaxSlayer Center between noon and 9:00 p.m. to paint the name(s) of loved one(s) affected by cancer on the ice in pink. The names will remain for two games February 9th and 10th. For more details, watch the interview above. Additional information can be found by clicking here.
