Rain in the forecast should relieve dry conditions this week

Nearly an inch or two of rain could fall with rain chances all week long

QUAD CITIES - September ended with a hot streak including four record high temperatures and it also ended dry. There hasn't been more than an tenth of an inch of rain since September 21st.

Rainfall is about 0.88 inches below average since September 1st and 1.92 inches below for the whole year. Rain chances this week are some of the best we have had in a while. Tuesday night will host a few scattered showers that last through the late morning hours Wednesday but the rain chances are even higher by Thursday and Friday.

Rainfall totals will likely be around a tenth to two tenths of an inch Tuesday night but we could get as much as an inch or an inch and a half of rain by Friday. There will be a low pressure system moving up from the south which means temperatures stay cool Thursday and Friday but this low will likely be packed with lots of moisture that could bring plenty of rain.

Temperatures will be warm Monday but after that should be much more fall-like and closer to average for the rest of the week.
