Rauner faces Republican challenger

William Kelly announes candidacy

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner will face a Republican challenger in next year's primary.

Conservative commentator and talk show host William Kelly announced his candidacy Monday.

The 50-year-old Chicago native likes to pick fights with high profile politicians and now he's aiming at Rauner over two main issues: immigration and abortion.

Rauner is an abortion rights Republican who donated tens of thousands of dollars to planned parenthood.

Kelly may not seem like a big threat to Rauner considering he's lost every race he ever entered.

Also, Kelly's ethics have been questioned after he allegedly started two political action committees and used money from them to pay himself and his own video production company more than $20,000 dollars.
