Report: Powerball, Mega Millions lottery tickets leaving Illinois

Multi-State Lottery Association no longer lists Illinois Lottery as member

The Multi-State Lottery Association no longer lists the Illinois Lottery as a member on its website.

That's because after June 30, the association is dropping Illinois unless a budget agreement materializes, according to the Chicago Sun-Times

That means Powerball and Mega Millions tickets will no longer be sold in Illinois.

Illinois Lottery spokesman Jason Schaumburg confirmed to the Sun-Times that the games will be dropped without a state budget, saying it was “another example of why the General Assembly needs to deliver a balanced budget to the governor.”

Fortunately for much of the Local 4 News viewing area, there's a state across the Mississippi River that will still sell Powerball and Mega Millions tickets.
